Eat clean. Train Dirty.

Moto for the week
EAT CLEAN AND TRAIN DIRTY.
This is the number one thing I struggle with. Eating clean. I can make myself workout for hours a day but then turn around and someone offers me a cookie and BAM! im sold. This is a horrible horrible habit. Eating clean needs to be my lifestyle not my crash diet.

To start I have found an amazing site. Blogilates.com! Check it out. You might think its silly at first but you will learn to love it. Her workout videos are fun and you never get bored. She has awesome tips and recipes for eating healthy and she updates tips everyday. I'm kinda addicted. I have printed her workout calender and food guide. Hopefully this will work. For the week I have set some plans to help me out.

1. Pre cut lettuce for salads.
2. Grill chicken breast and freeze for easy eating.
3. Go to the store buy Stevia and Quinoa
4. Drink more smoothies
5. Add fruits and veggies to every meal.
Plus im testing out the Magic Minute Muffin and a Mug. Ill let you know how it is.

This is a POP Pilates video. The first one I have done but in love. <3 br="br">

At first I was afraid.

Nasca is gone for two weeks. What will I do without my trainer. For one keep a very detailed journal of my eating habits and workouts. Second I will continue to work on my form and strength and find new workouts to keep me busy.

Today stared with reactivating my account with MyFitnessPal and changing out the motivation quotes on my wall. This week will be good.

I will survive.

Day one fail

COUNTDOWN
48 days until my first 5k
30 days until my 23rd birthday
I want to be conditioned enough to run most of my race and feel good doing it and my goal was to loose five pounds by my birthday.
To do this I will:
EAT LESS SUGAR
EAT LESS CARBS
ADD MORE FRUITS AND VEGGIES
Tuesday and Friday workout with N
Tuesday yoga or swimming
Monday and W Zumba
Thursday swimming
Weekend do what I can.
Run three times a week.
I did so well today until I got home from work. I then ate two doughnuts and didn't workout because my cousin was here.
NO EXCUSES! TOMORROW IS A NEW DAY.

Getting back on track.

Its been awhile since I have written in here. My goal is to write a few times a week about my fitness goals, how I'm feeling, and struggles or gains I have made. This should help to keep me on track. I really want to be able to Blog on my phone but for some reason this isn't working. I'm trying to get this fixed. Or better said I will get this fixed.

Last week I was feeling awesome. After being down a bit about my weight and goals I had a heart to hear with my trainer. We came up with a few base rules and I began to use them. I cooked twice last week for the family resulting in delicious healthy meals. I also began to work out 5 times a week as well as change up my workout. I'm meeting with Nasca Tuesday and Friday and this will kick my butt. Monday and Wednesday I want to go to Zumba at the LSAC and Thursday I want to swim. Weekends while on the island I will go running or Hiking and make Ryan come with me. Hehe.

Since Thursday I have been sick with an ear infection and down all weekend. When I sick I don't seem to think about what I'm eating. Nor have I had the energy to workout. Tomorrow is a new day! I am feeling a bit better and am getting back on track. After working an eight hour day I might be too tired to workout but ill give it a shot.

The power to change

I discovered something today after talking to a friend.
If you don't like the situation your in, you are the only one with the power to change it.
                         How true is this statement.

My situation: Not like my body, wanting to loose weight and tone.
How I will change it: Be strong!

I need to cut most sugar out of my diet which I have been doing very well with but it seems to be so hard. This could be because of a Chromium deficiency so tomorrow I am going to begin taking fish oil. This will be good for other things as well. Yesterday I made sugar free banana oat cookies and they were delicious. It might be easier than I thought. I am going to continue to to watch what I eat. Add more fresh foods and protein. Plus workout at least five days a week. I know I can do this.

I cheated tonight and had pizza. Now I feel bad but will work out extra tomorrow. I'm alone with Nasca. Lets hope she doesn't kill me. This weekend I will be good! I can be good!

Let it snow.

I haven't had a chance to write much because Ive had some crazy adventures but my new lifestyle is going great. I love the way im feeling and am trying to inspire others to join me. My family wont give up sugar but we have increased the veggie intake. Also I am following the lean jean nutrition guide my trainer gave me. This is ten lifestyle changes and each week I pick three goals. This week.
1. Add fruits/veggies to every meal.
2. Take probiotics and supplements.
3. Eat after work out snack.

Now for my week recap.
  • Thursday - This day was hard. I was really craving sugar and wanted to eat everything in sight. When this happens im trying to choose something healthy. I think I will try a baked sweet potato with agave nectar and cinnamon. I was still very sore from my workouts so I took another day to rest. I felt bad not working out.
  • Friday - I have began to increase my water and veggie intakes. I saw Nasca today and worked on my tri pushup. I am already feeling stronger. I then drove down to White Pass to see Ryan and his team of snow sculptors. They made an awesome space ship crashing into the snow castle. If you ever get a chance check out the winter carnival.  I tried to choose healthy options like subway. Once I got there I helped shovel. Not to mention walking in the snow take a lot more effort.
  • Saturday I went boarding! I haven't gone forever and sucked but it was still fun. Weather was not ideal but I loved it. Everything was free as I was with the "Carvers". White Pass was cute and it was fun meeting the staff. I broke the diet by eating Nachos and a Cheeseburger for dinner. It was so hard not to eat more lodge food.
  • Sunday - We went back to the pass. I didn't board this day because of some fear and it was very icy. I drove home and rested.
  • Today I ran a mile and did a Nasca workout. I went to get ingredients for morning smoothies/ post workout snacks. This will include wheat germ, soy yogurt, oats, protein powder and lots of yummy fruits. I am excited to try it. I also had an awesome taco salad! Yay for VEGGIES!

The start of something new.

Today I worked out with Nasca for the first time. Jeeze do I love that woman. She can work some magic. I'm so excited to meet with her twice a week! Not only did she give me a great workout she also gave me some nutrition guidelines and homework. Lifestyle changes I will be making and I'm ver excited.

This weeks goal eat fruits and veghies with everymeal.

After our workout I went to her yoga class where my legs then feeled like jello. Now I'm starting to feel sore in my thighs and arms. I love it!

As for food I did fairly well besides going to free pancake day at ihop. But hey we all need to live a little.

I also want to share this picture. I now live half The time on whidbey island and have fallen in love with the beach. My paradise.

Taking it all away.

As most of you know I have been into nutrition and exercise science since High School. This is my ultimate goal and I hope to have a degree in it soon. But as the year has passed and I have been out of school I don't seem to be motivated anymore.

I would rather sleep than workout. I feel tired all the time. And I feel gross about my body.
All of this is changing!

Thanks to the motivation of my friend and family especially Jess I know I can do this.
Changing my lifestyle will also help motivate me to start my career.
Ready Set Go!

Any ideas for me? Post them here. :)

You never cease to amaze me.

Sunday, after a very powerful two weeks Ry and I decided to take some time for us. After all it was our three year aniversary. I wanted to do something new and different so we went on an adventure to Fort Kasey. I had never been there and was so excited to explore! We walked around the park for hours looking and finding cool new things. Ryan was supper excited to use his new camera and took pictures of everything. I loved the vast amount of knowledge he had about the site. It was so much fun to just be the two of us. I loved it. We ended the evening at a cute little restraunt in Coopeville and then home to watch movies. Perfect. I hate leaving him each weekend. I can't wait to spend forever together <3

Black friday!

Wow do I love shopping. Kristen and I decided to venture out for our first Black Friday adventure.
Step One: Go to Walmart at 10pm Thanksgiving night. We gave up after about 10 minutes. White trash everywhere and carts lining the isles. It wasn't worth it to stand in a three hour line to get DVD's so we left.

Step Two: Stand at Kohls in the rain for two hours until they open the door. This was totally worth it. I got so many good deals and some good things for Ryan and I.

Step Three: Fred Myer sock sale after 4 am. Here is where the magic happens. Lots and lots of socks for Ryan and I.

Step Four: Hit the outlet mall tonight after everyone is home sleeping. Jess got a 15 dollar pair of heels at Vince Cameato. Amazing!

Up and down

Wow has this week been a emotional roller coaster. With stress from finding a job, work drama, Ryan's court, and life in general they also had to switch my anxiety meds. Not at all a good choice... now my brain has been freaking out. Between over analyzing everything and crying over nothing I have felt like I'm broken. But even though I'm crazy Ryan still stands there with me through everything. I have so thankful to have such a supportive boyfriend. He is my rock. Now let's just hope this week is better.

In other news the shop he started building in November is now almost done! Here are some sneak peaks..

Tiffany Please!

Wow did the boy surprise me today! With our Anniversary being on the 8th of January and his birthday on the 22nd of this month we usually don't celebrate Valentines day. Well this year we didn't do much for our anniversary because I was recovering from my toe surgery and he was building the shop. Valentines day wasn't much more exciting as I worked. So as I came to his house today he handed me a "blue" bag. Now this is a joke between us as I always tell him for every Holiday that I want a "blue box". Well this time I got it. When I opened it I found a roll of tape. Not a diamond... not a necklace.... a roll of tape! I didn't know what to do until he pulled out a box. It had the cutest necklace! I love it so much. I have wanted a key pendant for a while. And now I own something from Tiffany's!

Its this one but pink!

Holidays = Stress

Why is it that Holidays bring out the stress in people. This year I got my Christmas shopping done last night. Woot one week before Christmas. I have all the presents wrapped except two and just need to finish crafting Ryan's mom and sisters presents and then find a cute bow. My family on the other hand... seemed to start shopping today. Christmas cookies are not made yet, party plans are in the air and yet brings more and more stress. Oh I love the holidays.

I promise I really do I just wish it wasn't so stressful. Poor Ryan hasn't had time either as he is building the shop everyday which is coming together very fast. Ill post pictures soon. The roof got delayed until Monday and the door and windows till Thursday. So that puts us two days before Christmas. Lovely how construction has set backs.

With my toe surgery I was just told that I need to be out of work for another 6 weeks. This could get interesting as I'm about to run out of PTO. The surgery went differently than planned and instead of putting a pin in my toe they have to put a plate with four screws. This seems to take longer to heel. Also because I can't sit still one of the screws shifted to close to my joint and now has to be removed in a month. Oh joy. :/

For now I'm trying to only be on my feet for an hour at a time and take it easy. This will get boring very fast. I'm am trying to be active and do exercise that does not involve moving my feet. And when my car is fixed (Tuesday) I can go to the gym again!

Despite all these set backs I still love the Christmas season. I'm excited to spend it with my family and Ryan's. Tonight we are going to look at lights and I hope this will help put me into the Christmas mood. If not ill have to make more cookies :)

Today is the third full day I have been home and I am handling it better than I thought.

Things that have made me happy so far:
-Planning a spa day with Katie.
- 20 Questions and candy from Jessica.
- Ryan coming to see me.
- My mom renting me lots of movies.
- Pain Killers.

Hopefully soon ill be able to walk around and be back to myself in no time.
I have no energy and just want to craft.

More to come later :)

Time flies by...

Wow! November is going by so fast. I don't even remember October ending. Soon it will be Christmas time. Here are some things I'm excited about or that are happening.

1. Halloween was so much fun. Ryan and I were able to throw a sweet party at a friends house and it turned out awesome! I decided at the last minute that I wanted to be a nurse and the outfit was very cute. Ryan wore his mullet wig and I guess we matched nicely. Katie, Nicole, Jackie, Jessica, and I all had so much fun dancing. The next morning.. wasn't so great.

2. I love the fall. The leaves are beginning to change colors and the air is getting crisp. I love this time of year. When I do getting married I want it to be during this time so that the fall leaves are in all the pictures. (haha I'm such a girl). I'm excited for Thanksgiving and to spend time with family.

3. I am getting surgery on my toe. They have to shorten the big toe on my left foot because it is too long and placing pressure on the rest of my foot. It will be an out patient procedure and then a two week recovery. I can't work for the first two weeks and then will have to wear a boot for six weeks. I hope it is healed by January so I can snow boarding! The time out of work will allow me time to do lots of crafts.

4. I can't wait to start Christmas shopping! This is my favorite time of the holidays and I love getting things for other people.

5. I had an interview Thursday that went really well. I am hoping to get a job somewhere with a normal schedule that allows me to have weekends off and not so much drama. I am going to keep applying as I cant stand retail anymore.

6. It has almost been a year since Ryan's dad has passed away and its becoming hard for him family. It is really hard to sit there and see them hurt and know you can't do anything to change it. Prayers for the family are appreciated. Monday we are going to the cemetery to visit. This will be good as I miss Denney too.

Here are fun random pictures from last month!

Fitness Goals

So its time to get back into shape. With my new found workout partner we have set short term goals for December 18th and long term goals for March 18. I want to become better at running but I don't feel like I'm making progress. I also would like to be more flexible but I don't see any improvement in that either.

The big problem... I don't seem to be motivated anymore.

Suggestions?

October is here!

I love the month of October! I don't know what it is about this month that makes me so happy. It could be because it is the beginning of fall and you can start to see the colors changing on the trees. I also like the feel of crisp air in the morning and warm sun in the afternoon. But my favorite thing of all is HALLOWEEN!

I love to dress up and this year I have the chance to plan a party (which I also love doing). Ryan thinks its crazy that I'm this excited and its only the 1st but I'm a bit crazy. Sunday were going with some friends to check out costumes. I have it narrowed down to two different choices.

The first

And the Second :)

Who will be the winner....

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Oh glorious sunshine.

The sun seems to be gone but I'm so excited for October. I love the fresh crisp air and dark nights. I also love all the haunted corn mazes and houses. Ryan and I are going to try and go to a few this season and then get amazing costumes for all the Halloween parties.

With much needed sunshine Ryan and I took a mini vacation to Lake Chelan with our friends Jackie and Paul. It was so amazing (although we were only there a weekend). The cabin we stayed in, which was more like a house, was right on the Columbia River and only about three minutes away from a boat launch. We had to bring our toys so we spent the majority of our time out on the boat, wake boarding, and out on the jet ski. The sun was out the whole time with clear skies and a perfect 80 degrees on the water. The water even seemed to be glass calm for most of the time. We got a chance to tour the town, check out a car show and see some winery's. All in all it was a wonderful trip and lots of laughing. We got lots of great pictures which will come soon since I'm at work. Funny thing is as we were leaving Eastern Washington back over the pass all you could see were huge dark clouds. Oh how I love home.

Next is an adventure to Ryan's cabin on Whidbey Island with friends Katie and Ryan. This will be great as we get to spend some much needed time with them. I feel as if I never see them anymore :) Hopefully we will get to survey the property a bit for the new shop and then have some fun. It is always so relaxing there. I'm really looking forward to going.

Then ANOTHER vaca in October. That will be an epic weekend...

For now in my life im working on: Training my dog, working out, and other personal goals.
